Whole House Renovations in Massachusetts & Southern NH

Many homes in New Hampshire and Massachusetts are 100 to 200 years old. They are often structurally sound but don't fit modern life. Working with designers and architects, we can plan a renovation that takes the house down to the studs, redesigns the layout and rebuilds it with modern, high-quality materials.

Old houses hold surprises. George C. in Newburyport, MA renovated a 120-year-old house with us and wrote that once the walls were opened up there were many obstacles to work through. The crew kept working from October 1st through the end of the job six months later, shoveling snow to reach the house, and in his words it turned out better than they imagined.

Most whole-house projects start with the layout. In Haverhill, MA, the homeowners chose a full first-floor renovation over moving: we removed interior walls to open the plan, enlarged window openings and finished it with light gray shaker cabinets, white quartz, a herringbone backsplash behind the range, double wall ovens and site-finished red oak floors.

In a coastal-style Andover renovation we opened the sightlines between the kitchen, dining room and family room, added two islands (one clad in white oak) and a shiplap ceiling over the kitchen, and built a fireplace surround with built-ins and custom mudroom storage.

In a whole renovation, we do everything: kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, dining and living rooms, closets and more. On a 2,900 sq ft, four-bedroom Andover home ($1,000,000, 2026) that meant a kitchen with an oversized island and a full-height pantry wall, a custom mudroom, a spa-inspired primary bath with a curbless glass shower, built-ins and wide-plank white oak throughout. Those homeowners needed a builder who could manage a complex renovation while keeping disruption to the household down.

In North Andover, a 3,000 sq ft home ($700,000, 2023) got a kitchen with a custom walnut island, a shiplap fireplace wall, a wine and beverage station and a primary bath with a white oak vanity. Those homeowners chose us after reviewing our portfolio.

The pre-construction stretch alone, covering design, selections, ordering materials with long lead times and permits (a few weeks, sometimes two to three months), often runs 4 to 12 weeks or longer, which is why those decisions get made before construction starts.
