From first contact for quote to the last day of the project, Ryan’s professionalism, responsiveness, and organization surpassed my expectations. Our project included significant structural work, framing, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, sewer/excavation, tile, windows, and finish work, and the quality of all of Ryan’s subs was outstanding. The project was finished ahead of schedule, on budget, and we are enjoying our new space immensely. This was a massive and disruptive project for us. With two little kids we needed to move out of our house for 4 months. But Ryan’s communication throughout the project kept us informed of what was happening, what was going to happen next, and decisions we needed to make to keep the project on track. Our ability to text or call Ryan at any time and expect a response very quickly kept us at ease that he was in control and on track. I could not have imagined that it could have gone any better. I would use Ryan again in a heartbeat.
Norman Builders was our top choice among three contractors we interviewed (including our past preferred general contractor) for a new 12′ X 32′ deck and screen room.
We had a basic design in mind, which Ryan and Dale improved upon and fine-tuned for us. They advised us on materials as well, and we really feel that allowed for the most bang for our buck. Our calls were always promptly returned which made for much less frustration, especially when we had questions.
We were extremely impressed with the quality of the workmanship and their attention to detail. The work area was always neatly kept. They were flexible and adaptable when we had additional unplanned work that needed to be completed before they could proceed with the scheduled project.

We originally had planned a kitchen remodel but we ultimately decided to add an addition and expand the master bathroom and closet as well. The project became very complicated but Ryan managed the planning, subcontracting and scheduling of work masterfully. We worked together to design and implement each step of the addition/remodel. While bad weather did delay new construction, all proceeded timely thereafter. We are very pleased with our new kitchen, flooring, and bonus room. Our master bathroom is twice as large as originally built. This project has definitely increased the value of our home. Thank you to Norman Builders!

While this work was not originally within the scope of the project, you were willing to subcontract this work instead of deferring it to us to manage.
The difficulty for us was that the work being performed was at such a high quality level there was not much room to compromise on the needed variations to the project. We felt you kept to fair pricing when additional material and labor was warranted. We are extremely happy and very satisfied with the work. In fact, both the front porch and rear screen room and deck look even better than we originally imagined.

We received a quote soon after letting Ryan know what we were interested in having done. The quote was similar to what we had expected and the projects we had agreed on came in on budget. We added and adjusted a few things and they were very accommodating to our requests.
They started work around the estimated time we were given and they completed the project before the deadline. For insurance purposes we had a needed deadline and Norman Builders was great about making sure it was met.
The materials they used were good quality and their workmanship was excellent.

We were introduced to Ryan Norman by friends in Newmarket New Hampshire where we had bought our new home. They had used Ryan for work on their home and were really pleased. We could see from their house that his work was top quality. Ryan’s bid for our remodel was concise, detailed, and reasonable. This was a large job that included gutting bathrooms, putting on an addition, an entire new roof, and painting inside and out. There was excavating, electrical, and plumbing involved. Working with Ryan Norman from Norman Builders has been wonderful. Ryan has now completed two projects at our house in Haverhill and we are already planning a third. Each project has run smoothly from beginning to end. For each project, the quote for the work was clear, concise and came in at a very fair price. The work was completed with high quality and in a timely manner. I was impressed with our kitchen/laundry/bath renovation for a number of reasons. The project began early, finished early and even though the house was disrupted, the workers kept the area clean and neat at the end of every day. Each part of the project (destruction, drywall, plumbing, electricity, carpentry, floor and counter installation) was completed with no problems. Just had to write to tell you how much we love our home. I have lived in two previous homes and have never had the wonderful kitchen I have here. I finally have a kitchen designed with a woman in mind.
We love it when our friends visit and watch their faces when they come in. They just can’t believe how much room we have here. I think they all picture it as a basement apartment and can’t believe what they are seeing.
If you ever have a client who is not sure about their plans feel free to bring them over to see your work. You are a five star contractor in all our books as Brian and Karen are very, very happy with their home also.
By the way, I would be remiss if I did not mention your great crew. They were wonderful.
Great job. The addition is a real enhancement to our home and well worth the effort. The crews were very responsive to our questions and requests during the process. You were too and that was appreciated. What I liked, especially, is that we started with a minimum design at a very reasonable cost. Then we were able to work with you to add features and modifications as we went along and our ideas changed.
Overall, we have been quite pleased with the work done for us. We had a variety of work done for two independent projects. The work involved indoor and outdoor work and required a number of subcontractors all managed through Norman Builders. The workmanship was high quality and the projects were completed according to plan in a timely manner. We will certainly use this group again in the future.
Norman Builders just completed a full kitchen remodel on our home and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. The entire process from the estimate to completion was well planned and amazingly stress-free. The workmanship on all trades was top notch. Ryan’s father Dale is a master carpenter who paid the utmost attention to even the smallest detail and the results showed this level of professionalism and care. The electrical, plumbing, tile and flooring work was also completed at a high level of workmanship. All of the work was completed on time and as planned. Norman Builders began our project at the end of June 2014 and completed the work at the beginning of November 2014. We were very impressed with Ryan’s professionalism and project management. For the most part, Ryan kept the project on schedule and finished within the estimated time frame. For a project of our size, there were very few issues and when an issue arose, Ryan addressed it immediately.. In one case, it appeared that the duct work for a split heating system would have to be installed on the interior wall rather than the exterior wall. Ryan met with the plumbing subcontractor and found a way to install the duct work on the exterior wall.to our satisfaction. Ryan’s willingness to consider alternative options as well as the fair and reasonable estimate for the project was one of the many reasons we decided to hire him for the job. As with all jobs, there were a number of changes and add-ons and we believe Ryan always gave us a reasonable price. We never had any problems with communication-Ryan was very quick to respond to any communications whether by phone email or text. As has been stated in prior reviews, Ryan’s sub contractors were excellent and did quality work. Most have worked for him for many years and you got the impression that they enjoyed working for him because he he was great to work with. A major renovation obviously causes disruption and inconvenience, but we think it went as well as it possibly could under Ryan’s supervision. Overall Norman builders did a great job and we are so happy with our beautiful new space. We would not hesitate to recommend Norman Builders and would certainly consider them for future projects. In fact, Norman Builders will be replacing our front door when the weather is warmer.
From the very beginning, Ryan was upfront about costs and responsibilities of all parties. When Ryan asked to begin the project a week later than originally planned, we were nervous, but he assured us that he would still be able to finish the project that was slotted for eight weeks in seven, and he did just that.
Ryan’s father, Dale, did the majority of the carpentry work, and did an excellent job at that. All of the subcontractors (plumbing, electrical, flooring) were on time, courteous, and did professional work. The only cost overruns we experienced were small and outside the scope of our original agreement.
Ryan was always easy to reach if we had a question, and he performed excellent work for us. We are planning on renovating our bathroom in the next few years, and we will definitely hope to use Ryan and co. again.

I am writing this letter in reference to Ryan Norman from Norman Builders. We hired Ryan to complete an addition and renovation on our beach cottage at Hampton Beach, N.H. We spent several months searching for the right contractor and used Service Magic to screen contractors in the New Hampshire area.
We planned on starting the project in October of 2010 and were assured that it would be completed by February of 2011. The project started within a few weeks of the anticipated start date and was finished on time. We had very few headaches and hassles throughout such a large job, and when there was a setback Ryan was there with a solution. We found Ryan and his workers to be experts in their areas while maintaining a sense of professionalism and courteousness. We could not have been more pleased with our selection of Ryan Norman. The quality of work was outstanding and Ryan worked closely with us to keep us on budget while still enabling us to make the desired changes that came about as the job progressed.
Ryan and his team transformed our small two bedroom cottage into a beautiful house. We have nothing but praise for the quality of work performed throughout all phases of the job. I would highly recommend Ryan Norman for any construction needs. He has the honesty, integrity and work ethic that is not easy to find these days. Having lived through some real home-improvement nightmares in the past, we were very nervous about beginning another project, especially one of this scale. Impressed by the Angie’s List reviews raving about Norman Builders, we decided to give them a try, and we’re so pleased that we did! When I first met with Ryan to discuss the project, he immediately set my mind at ease. He was personable, knowledgeable, and optimistic that our bathroom visions could become reality. (I wasn’t sure whether the master bath expansion and plumbing relocation were even physically possible.) Throughout the project, Ryan kept us up to date with the process and what to expect. He always responded immediately to texts, emails, and phone calls whenever I had any questions. Ryan was able to point us in the right direction to select cabinetry, tiles, granite counter tops, mirrors, shower doors, and plumbing supplies. Every single vendor we met and worked with per Ryan’s recommendation proved to be very helpful, professional, and courteous. It was not uncommon to hear “Norman Builders? They’re excellent!” after telling a vendor who we were working with. Additionally, the plumbers, painters, electrician, granite installers, and mirror installers were all top notch. The bulk of the work was performed by Dale and Lance, who arrived on time every single day. Their work ethic and meticulous attention to detail are beyond compare. Lance is an artist with tile! They were both wonderful to work with, and a pleasure to have in our home. They built us three gorgeous bathrooms that we will enjoy for many years to come!
A note about the cost of the project… the figure posted above included ALL expenses. We chose to upgrade in several areas, such as the addition of body sprays in the master, an air-jet tub in the common bath, and higher-end cabinetry. Ryan’s estimate for labor costs was about $30,000. He also provided an allowance budget to give us an idea of what the total project would cost. While our upgrade choices caused us to go over the original “budget”, Ryan did not exceed his labor estimate. We wholeheartedly recommend Norman Builders, and will look forward to our next home improvement project!

From the first time we met with Ryan Norman, we knew he was the builder we wanted to work with. His calm, relaxed demeanor in talking through all the details in preparation for signing the contract inspired confidence. From the first day of the job it was clear that everyone in his crew was on the same page, and work never stopped from October 1st thru the end of the job six months later. Keep in mind that through the last two and a half months of the job, the men had to sometimes shovel or blow snow out of the way before they could even get into the house to work. This was not an easy job for Ryan’s crew. Our house is 120 years old, and once the walls were opened up there were many obstacles to be negotiated to meet the design specifications. Never once did they try to talk us out of something we wanted in our design in favor of taking a short cut that would make the work easier for them. We ended up with exactly what our designer drew up, with some recommendations from Dale on how to make things work even better. I might add that we were could not have been easy clients to work with. We had several add-ons that were not in the original contract. Every time we approached Ryan and Dale with another request — tearing out a fireplace and rebuilding it on the fly, adding small improvements to other rooms –they were perfectly professional, and put up with a lot of requests from us, and also some bull from a contractor we wanted to go with before we finally found someone who could do the job right and coordinate well with Ryan’s crew. We used more than one sub-contractor chosen by ourselves. Ryan and his people communicated and worked well with whoever came on the job. Ryan’s own subs, especially his plumber and electrician and tile person, did an excellent job. It was clear that each of them took pride in their work. This was our first experience with a renovation, and it was difficult to give our house over to someone and trust that it would turn out alright. In fact it turned out better than we imagined. I don’t know if the workmanship can be matched anywhere. We highly recommend Norman Builders for whatever you have planned. The job will get done right.
