Norman Builders remodeled this primary bathroom in Boxford, MA, completed in 2026 with a $65,000 budget band: a freestanding soaking tub by the window, a walk-in glass shower in large-format porcelain with a decorative accent band, dual custom maple vanities with illuminated mirrors, and a heated towel warmer.

A Functional Bath That Lacked Comfort

The old primary bath worked, but it lacked the comfort, storage and sense of luxury the homeowners wanted. For years they had pictured it as a private retreat, somewhere to relax at the end of a busy day, and they wanted the remodel to add lasting value to the house as well.

A Builder Who Listened First

The homeowners wanted a company that would take the time to understand what they had in mind before building it. After meeting with Norman Builders and talking through their goals, they hired us, and through construction we worked with them to coordinate selections and refine details, from tile layout and trim to cabinetry and fixture placement.

A Calm, Timeless Palette

The design aims to look current now and still look right years from now: soft neutral colors, warm maple cabinetry and stone-inspired tile. Each finish was picked to balance elegance with durability.

The Tub by the Window

A freestanding soaking tub is the focal point, set near the window to make the most of natural light. Next to it, the spacious glass-enclosed shower uses large-format porcelain wall tile with a decorative accent band, a porcelain mosaic floor and brushed nickel fixtures behind a frameless glass enclosure.

Two Vanities, Lit Mirrors and a Towel Warmer

Dual custom maple vanities give each person storage and counter space, with quartz countertops and illuminated LED mirrors, and layered lighting that works for busy mornings and quiet evenings. A heated towel warmer and custom storage cabinetry round out the room, on luxury vinyl tile flooring with painted trim and millwork.

Where It Sits Among Our Primary Baths

At $65,000, Boxford is one of the two 2026 primary baths in our project library, alongside the $60,000 spa-inspired bath in Andover, which also has a freestanding tub but pairs a white oak double vanity with brushed brass. Boxford uses maple and brushed nickel, and is the one primary bath among our four with a heated towel warmer listed. The older two are the Byfield bath ($85,000, 2019), with natural stone on the shower walls and ceiling and a skylight, and the Andover Phillips-area bath ($80,000, 2022), with marble-look porcelain and a shower bench. Also in Boxford, see our Boxford custom kitchen. Our bathroom remodeling page covers how we plan a bath, including timelines and permits.
